There is no Communication Between Geo SCADA Expert and a SCADAPack 50 Device
If there appears to be no communication between Geo SCADA Expert and a SCADAPack 50 device:
- View the status of the Channel and Outstation database items (see View a Status Display in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to ViewX and Virtual ViewX Clients). The State status attribute gives details of the communication status. For example, State: Healthy.
- Check that the GSM modem SIMS are activated.
- Check that the GSM modem SIMS have credit.
- Check the GSM modem SIM cards in a cell phone to help ensure that they are operating correctly.
- Check that the telephone numbers entered in the Channel and Outstation database items match those of the relevant SIMS. You should do this for the device in Kervisu as well. The Channel telephone number is the telephone number of the local Geo SCADA Expert GSM modem SIM. The Outstation telephone number is the telephone number of the remote device modem SIM (see Specify the Geo SCADA Expert Modem Telephone Number) and (see Specify an Outstation Telephone Number).
- Check that the Geo SCADA Expert channel's mode of operation is compatible with the way in which the device encodes SMS messages. That is, the device should be set to SMS PDU mode or SMS Text Mode (see Define the GSM SMS Settings for a Channel in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Advanced Drivers).
- Check the Events List of both the Channel and the Outstation database items (see Events Lists in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Lists). Look for the confirmation responses that indicate that Geo SCADA Expert has received SMS messages from the device.
- Set up a test configuration, if you have not already done so (see SCADAPack 50 Quick Start Tutorial).
