SCADAPack x70

Binary Point States

Use the fields within the States section of the Binary Point tab to define state-related information for a SCADAPack x70 Binary point, such as the handling of state-related alarms.

On the SCADAPack x70 Digital Configuration item with which the point is associated, you specify which state is deemed to be the Alert Active State (see Specify the Alert Notification Requirements). You use the properties in the States section of the SCADAPack x70 Binary point to specify which state(s) are to raise an alarm in Geo SCADA Expert. You do this by setting the state's Severity to trigger an Alarm (alert) of the appropriate priority (see Procedure for Configuring a Digital Point’s States in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration). Should more than one binary point state be configured to raise an alarm in Geo SCADA Expert:

On the SCADAPack x70 Digital Configuration item with which the point is associated, you can configure Alert Deadband time delays for the SCADAPack x70 device to apply before generating an event due to the point changing state into or out of the Alarm Active State (see Configure the Event Attributes).

If the point represents a physical digital input on a SCADAPack x70 device or 6000 series I/O Module, you can also specify whether the point states correspond directly or inversely to the raw state of that physical input. To do this, you use the Invert State property on the SCADAPack x70 Digital Configuration item with which the point is associated (see Configure the Physical I/O Performance Properties).

For further information about configuring binary point states, see Define the Point States for a Digital Point in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration.
