Configuring an SDI-12 Scanner
An SDI-12 Scanner is logical functionality that runs in Geo SCADA Expert and scans for data on an intelligent sensor, using the SDI-12 protocol.
You need to create and configure one scanner per sensor.
You can attach multiple SDI-12 Scanners to each sensor on your system. By specifying different scan rates and offsets, you can enable the SDI-12 driver to scan certain data at different intervals and times to other data on the same sensor.
You configure the scanner features using the fields on the SDI-12 Scanner Form.
The Form has several tabs. The Scanner tab includes several SDI-12 specific fields. You use the Scanner tab to:
- Configure the General Scanner Properties
- Configure the Sensor Properties
- Configure the Scan Properties.
For information on the fields on other tabs, see Tabs That are Common to Many Configuration Forms in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Simple Drivers.
For information on the minimal amount of configuration that you can undertake to produce a functional SDI-12 Scanner in Geo SCADA Expert, see Minimum Configuration.
