Minimum Configuration for a TBox Point
The following applies to TBox Analog Input Points, TBox Analog Output Points, TBox Digital Input Points, TBox Digital Output Points and TBox String Points. For the configuration of Historical Analog Points, see Configuring TBox Historical Analog Points.
For a TBox point to be capable of functioning, as a minimum you need to specify these features on the <Point Type> tab of the appropriate type:
- The outstation on which the point is located
- The point’s Modbus Address
- The Retrieval Interval
- The Scan Group
- For Digital points, the Number of Bits
- For Analog points, the Data Type, and the Scaling
- For String points, the Length of the requested string.
Additionally, if the point is an output point, you need to:
- Enable and configure the required properties on the Control tab.
If you want to store retrieved TBox Chronologies or instantaneous Sampling Tables in the server database, you need to:
- Enable logging on the Historic tab, and configure Historical Data Retrieval on the outstation (see Historical Data Logging).
If you want to store other types of retrieved TBox Sampling Tables in the server database, you need to:
- Configure a Historical Analog Point for each Sampling Table, enable logging on the Historic tab, and configure Historical Data Retrieval on the outstation(see Historical Data Logging) .
Also ensure that the point and the database items on which it depends are In Service, and have saved, valid configuration. This will produce a point that is capable of functioning using the default configuration settings.
