Welcome to the ViewX and Virtual ViewX Clients Guide

Intended Audience

This guide is primarily intended for operator-level users. The guide can also be used by engineers and other users who need to familiarize themselves with the features listed below.

Document Scope

In this Guide you will learn how to use the operator features of the two user interfaces provided with Geo SCADA Expert:

• ViewX Client
• Virtual ViewX Client.

  

If you are new to Geo SCADA Expert, please see Understanding Your System, which describes the various components that comprise a Geo SCADA Expert system.

Both ViewX and Virtual ViewX clients provide access to a variety of displays that you might use as a Geo SCADA Expert operator, including:

• Alarms
• Events
• Mimics
• Lists
• Trends
• Reports
• Status Displays
• Operator Document Stores.

You can access these displays via the Explorer Bars, or the Object Menu on either a ViewX or Virtual ViewX client. You can also store frequently accessed displays as Favorites.

The displays provide access to the information you need as well as the methods and pick actions you will use to interact with your SCADA system.

Throughout this guide, the ViewX Client is used to describe how to perform operations. The section on the Virtual ViewX Client describes the Virtual ViewX interface, and explains how basic navigation and operations in Virtual ViewX differ from ViewX.
