Optionally Associate one or More Profiles with the Point
Use the fields within the Profiles section of the Counter Point tab to specify whether any Profiles are used to control the point’s High limit and/or current value.
Depending on the outstation’s Profile Type, DNP3 SCADAPack counter points can use either:
- Stepped Standard Double Time Profiles, which you specify in the Current Value and/or High fields within the Profiles section of the tab.
You only need specify a Profile for the High limit and/or Current Value if they are Profile-controlled. Leave the field blank for either limit/value that is not Profile-controlled. With a High limit that is not Profile-controlled, the fixed High limit value defined within the Alarm Limits section of the Point Form applies (see Configure Alarm Limits)).
- Daily DNP3 SCADAPack Counter Profiles, which you specify in the Sunday to Saturday fields.
Leave the fields blank if a point is not Profile-controlled, or specify a Profile per day if the point is Profile-controlled.
(With either type of Profile, the Profile’s values are scaled from engineering to raw when downloaded to the SCADAPack E outstation.)
Fields that do not apply to the specified Profile Type are ‘grayed out’ and unavailable for use.
With either type of Profile, use the Historic check box to specify whether Geo SCADA Expert is to store profile values historically.
For more information, see Specify Whether any Profiles are Used to Change a Point’s Limits or Current Value.
Remember that in order to associate Profiles successfully with a DNP3 SCADAPack point, you have to take into account various Limitations and Restrictions.
