WITS Field Device manufacturers provide Configuration Applications that you can use to change the configuration of your Field Device(s). When you make configuration changes using a Configuration Application, the altered configuration has to be:
- Imported into Geo SCADA Expert and then downloaded from Geo SCADA Expert to the Field Device (see Scenario 1: Configuration Application Import to Geo SCADA Expert Download to Field Device)
- Downloaded from the Configuration Application to the Field Device, and then uploaded into Geo SCADA Expert (see Scenario 2: Configuration Application > Load into Field Device > Upload to Geo SCADA Expert)
- Applied directly into the Field Device and then uploaded into Geo SCADA Expert (see Scenario 3: Configure Field Device Directly, Upload to Geo SCADA Expert).
- Downloaded from the Configuration Application to the Field Device and also imported into Geo SCADA Expert (see Scenario 4: Configuration Application >Load into Field Device >Import to Geo SCADA Expert)
When you use a Configuration Application to edit the bulk configuration file for a Field Device, you need to allocate a new version. The new version has to be included in the filename when saving the bulk configuration file.
