Control the Analog Point
To control the EtherNet/IP Analog point that you configured earlier in this tutorial:
- Ensure that the Mimic that you created for this tutorial is in Run mode.
- Click on the EtherNet/IP Analog Point on the Mimic.
A context-sensitive menu is displayed. - Select the Control option.
The Control window is displayed. - Enter a value between 0 and 100.
- Continue sending controls to the EtherNet/IP Analog Point—send controls that change the value by amounts greater than 1.0, and controls that change the value by amounts smaller than 1.0.
- View the EtherNet/IP Analog Point’s value on the Mimic. You will notice that when the output value changes by 1.0 or more, the input value is updated. When the output value changes by less than 1.0, the input value remains unchanged. This is due to the analog point’s Significant Change settings.
If you open the EtherNet/IP Analog Point’s Form, on the Analog Point tab you will see that the Significant Change Type is Percentage of Span, and the Deadband is 1. This means that the value has to change by 1% in order for the controller to generate an event.
- Display the Historic List of the EtherNet/IP Analog Point. (For information on Historic Lists, see Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Lists).
Congratulations—you have completed this Quick Start Tutorial!
