You can use the Geo SCADA Expert Server Configuration Tool to define various historic settings that are applied to the entire system. The historic settings allow you to configure many historic features including:
- The amount of time for which historic data is retained
- The amount of memory used to cache historic data
- The auditing of configuration change data
- Limitations on extended historic searches.
The Historic Configuration branch allows you to define the settings for a variety of features relating to the storage of historic data. The settings for each of the Historic / Event Journal / Configuration Change features are organized into the following groups (which you can access via the Server Status Tool’s hierarchy):
- Alarm Summary Storage Settings—Use to enable, disable, and configure the system-wide settings for alarm summary records.
- Configuration Changes Auditing—Use to enable, disable, and configure the system-wide settings for the records of configuration changes.
- Event Journal Storage Settings—Use to enable, disable and configure the system-wide settings for the records of the Event Journal.
- Historic Data Storage Settings—Use to enable, disable and configure the system-wide settings for the records of historic data for database items. Also use to define the OPC HDA Server limits.
- Historic Files—Use to Enable or Disable Historic Files
- Search Limits for Historic Data Searches
