Configuring Analog Points
The Sofrel driver supports Sofrel Analog Input and Analog Output points. To configure the properties for each analog point use the fields on the Sofrel Analog Input Point Form, or the Sofrel Analog Output Point Form, as appropriate.
This section covers configuration of properties on the Analog Point tab of each Form, and the properties on the Control tab of the Sofrel Analog Output Point Form. For information on the fields on other tabs, see Tabs on Point Forms.
For Analog Input or Analog Output points, use the Analog Point tab to:
- Configure Common Analog Point Properties.
- Configure Alarm Limits
- Configure any Alarm Limit Profiles (see Specify any Alarm Limit Profiles).
- Define the Point Scaling
- Define the Point Formatting (see Define the Appearance of an Analog Point’s Values).
- Specify the Override Properties (see Define whether an Analog Point can be Overridden).
- Specify the Significant Change Properties
- Configure the No Change Properties (see Detect whether an Analog Point has Stopped Changing).
- Specify the Trend Properties (see Define an Analog Point’s Trend Settings).
- Define the Historic Data settings (see Specify the Type of Point Data that Geo SCADA Expert is to Store Historically).
For Sofrel Input points
Use the Input tab to:
- Configure a Report Data point (see Configuring Report Data points).
For Sofrel Analog Output points
Use the Control tab to:
- Configure the Control Properties (see Define the Control Settings for an Analog Output Point)
The Confirm combo box used to define whether a confirmation dialog box is displayed whenever an operator attempts to send a control applies to Control and Lock, Unlock and Control and Force pick actions (see Define the Analog Control Settings).
- Specify whether any outstations are given Scanning Priority whenever a Control Action is Issued (see Promoting Scanning of Outstations Associated with Controls).
- Specify Whether to Update the Point Value Immediately Following a Control.
Use the Control Checks tab to:
- Configure the Control Feedback check (see Control Feedback Settings).
