Points used on Advanced Trio Diagnostics Radios
With the Advanced Trio Diagnostics driver, you need to configure one Advanced Trio Diagnostics Point per item of diagnostics information that Geo SCADA Expert is to retrieve from a Trio radio, or control that Geo SCADA Expert is to send to a Trio radio.
The exception to this is where you have a hot-standby radio, in which case the number of points you require to represent 'shared' diagnostics data in the database varies, depending on the radio series. You require 1 set of points to represent 'shared' data in a D Series hot-standby radio, and 2 sets of points to represent 'shared' data in the other supported series of Trio radios (see Retrieve Data from a Hot-Standby Radio).
You need to configure points of the appropriate type to represent the type of data that you want the driver to retrieve or the output that you want the driver to control.
The driver supports these types of point:
- Advanced Trio Diagnostics Analog Input Point (see Configuring Analog Points)
D Series radios provide support for interrogation of fewer diagnostics parameters than other supported radio series. To retrieve any item of diagnostics data from a D Series radio, you associate that data with an Advanced Trio Diagnostics Analog Input Point.
- Advanced Trio Diagnostics Analog Ouput Point (see Configuring Analog Points)
- Advanced Trio Diagnostics Digital Input Point (see Configuring Digital Points)
- Advanced Trio Diagnostics Digital Output Point (see Configuring Digital Points)
- Advanced Trio Diagnostics String Point (see Configuring String Points).
You configure each point using the appropriate Advanced Trio Diagnostics Point Form. Each Form has several tabs.
The properties on each <Point Type> tab (such as the Digital Point tab on the Trio Diagnostics Digital Point Form) include:
- Properties that are common to points on the Advanced Trio Diagnostics driver (see Configure the Common Point Properties)
- Properties that are point-specific (see the appropriate reference above).
The other tabs on the Forms, and the properties on those tabs, are common to points on many drivers (see Tabs on Point Forms in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Advanced Drivers).
