With Geo SCADA Expert’s Lufkin SAMS driver, you use:
- Generic Advanced Modbus Digital Input points to retrieve current digital data from a Lufkin SAMS controller (see Configuring Digital Points in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to the Advanced Modbus Driver).
- Lufkin SAMS Digital Input points to retrieve digital data that is stored historically on a Lufkin SAMS controller. (Lufkin SAMS points are designed to process only historic data.) Geo SCADA Expert retrieves the historic data at the 'Historic Data Poll Interval' specified on the Lufkin SAMS outstation Form (see Define the Historic Data Poll Interval).
The Lufkin SAMS driver supports 1-bit Lufkin SAMS Digital Input points. You configure the properties of each Lufkin SAMS Digital Input point using fields on the Lufkin SAMS Digital Input Point Form.
This section covers configuration of properties on the Digital Point tab of the Lufkin SAMS Digital Input Point Form. For information on the fields on other tabs, see Tabs on Point Forms in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Advanced Drivers.
For Lufkin SAMS Digital Input points, use the Digital Point tab to:
- Configure the Common Point Properties
- Define the Point Formatting (see Define the Format of a Digital Point’s Values in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Configure the Point States (see Define the Point States for a Digital Point in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration). Lufkin SAMS Digital Input points have 1-bit and therefore can be in either of two states.
- Specify the Area of Interest (see Specify the Area of Interest Associated with the Point’s State-Related Alarms and Events in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration). This requirement only applies if the Area of Interest feature is enabled on your system (in which case an Area of Interest field is displayed below the States section of the tab).
- Configure the Override Properties (see Define whether a Digital Point can be Overridden in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Configure the Trend Properties (see Define a Digital Point's Trend Settings in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration).
