With Geo SCADA Expert’s Lufkin SAMS driver, you use:
- Generic Advanced Modbus points to retrieve current point data from a Lufkin SAMS controller. Geo SCADA Expert retrieves the data at the ‘Retrieval Interval’ specified on the Point Form (see Configure Common Point Properties in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to the Advanced Modbus Driver).

- Lufkin SAMS points to retrieve historic (time stamped) data that is stored on a Lufkin SAMS controller. (Lufkin SAMS points are designed to process only historic data.) Geo SCADA Expert retrieves the historic point data at the 'Historic Data Poll Interval' specified on the Lufkin SAMS outstation Form (see Define the Historic Data Poll Interval).
