Configuring TBox Analog Points
The TBox driver supports Analog Input Points and Analog Output Points. (For Historical Analog Points, see Configuring TBox Historical Analog Points.)
Configure the properties for each Analog Point using the fields on the TBox Analog Input Point Form or the TBox Analog Output Point Form, as appropriate.
This section covers configuration of properties on the Analog Point tab of each Form, and the properties on the Control tab of the TBox Analog Output Point Form. For information on the fields on other tabs, seeTabs on Point Forms in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Advanced Drivers.
For TBox Analog Input or Analog Output points, use the Analog Point tab to:
- Configure the General TBox Analog Point Properties
- Configure TBox Alarm Limits
- Define the Point Scaling
- Define the Formatting of the point (see Define the Appearance of an Analog Point’s Values in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Use the properties in the Override section to define whether a point’s value can be overridden (see Define whether an Analog Point can be Overridden in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Use the properties in the Significant Change section to define the amount by which a point’s engineering value has to change in order for the Geo SCADA Expert server to update its database to include the changed value (see Define the Criteria for a Significant Change in Value in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Use the properties in the No Change section to specify whether Geo SCADA Expert should raise an alarm or log an event if a point’s value stops changing (see Detect whether an Analog Point has Stopped Changing in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Use the properties in the Trend section to define the settings for displaying a Trend of the values of the Analog Point (see Define an Analog Point’s Trend Settings in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Under Logged Data, use the Historic Data Filter to specify whether current data, logged data or both are to be retrieved for this point. Logged data include any Chronologies and Sampling Tables that have been set up on the TBox RTU for this point
- Under Logged Data, use the Alarms From combo box to specify when the Geo SCADA Expert server updates its database with any point-state alarm information for this particular point (see Processing Alarm Data for Point States in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Advanced Drivers).
For TBox Analog Output Points only, there are two additional tabs: a Control Tab and a Control Checks tab.
Use the Control tab to define properties relating to control of equipment:
- Configure the control properties (see Define the Analog Control Settings in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration).
- Specify whether any outstations are given scanning priority whenever a control action is issued (see Promoting Scanning of Outstations Associated with Controls on the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
You can use the Go To link to open the configuration Form of the outstation that you have selected.
- Use the Update point on successful action check box to require the point to report its value immediately following a successful control action (see Specify Whether to Update an Output Point Value Immediately Following a Control Action.
You can optionally use the Control Checks tab to configure the Control Checks settings (see Configuring Control Checks Settings in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration).
