Specify the Geographical Region within which Alarm Redirections are to Trigger
Use the Region field on the Redirection tab to specify the geographical region within which an alarm has to be located in order for Geo SCADA Expert to redirect the alarm. The alarm's region is that of the database item for which the alarm has been raised.
The Region field only applies to systems that use Geo SCADA Expert's Geographical Location features. If your system does not use these features, or you want to redirect alarms regardless of the region within which the alarms are located, leave the Region field empty.
To populate the field with the relevant region, select the browse button next to the field to display a Reference browse window. The window displays a list of regions that exist in the database. Use the window to locate and select the required region.
To restrict alarm redirection to alarms that are in a particular region, the database items for which alarms might need redirecting have to be assigned geographical coordinates. These can be static, dynamic, or inherited from a 'parent' item or group (see Use the Location Tab to Specify an Item's Geographic Coordinates in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Geographical Location Support).
If you want to redirect alarms when they are within one of several regions, configure a separate alarm redirection for each region.
For an example that demonstrates how you might use the Region field to control alarm redirection, see Only Redirect Alarms when they Occur in a Particular Region.
When you have specified a region for the alarm redirection:
- If your system has the Area of Interest feature enabled, you need to Specify the Area of Interest for which Alarms are Redirected.
- For an alarm redirection with a Trigger Type of Auto or Both, you need to Specify the Direction of Travel that Denotes Whether a Point Alarm is Redirected.
- For an alarm redirection with a Manual Trigger Type, you need to Define When the Redirection Action is Active.
