Use the relevant Display <Type of 'File' Object> option to display the selected 'file' object in Run mode. For example, select the Display X-Y Plot option to display an X-Y Plot in Run mode. (Run mode provides access to the 'file' object's operational features (as opposed to Design mode, which is the mode in which engineers configure the 'file' object).)
With a ViewX client on a Multi-Monitor Setup, you may be able to select the name of the Window Container in which to display or edit a document. Each Window Container displays on a particular monitor by default. Such options are only available when you select certain Display... or Edit... pick actions from the Database Bar or Operator Documents Bar. For more information, see Ability to Specify the Window Container in which to Display or Edit a Document.
From some parts of the interface you select the Display option rather than the Display <Type of 'File' Object> option. Both options perform the same function (they display the selected 'file' object in Run mode).
