Use OPC time formats for entering dates and times in ClearSCADA. The formats are based on the standards that are defined by the OPC Foundation. The formats that you need to use vary, depending on the type of time or date. Within ClearSCADA you can enter and display these types of dates and times:
- Intervals—For example, 15 minutes. To specify an interval, you enter the time in the OPC Time Format.
- Relative Times—For example, yesterday at 06:00. To specify a relative time, you enter the time in the OPC Relative Time Format.
- Absolute Times—For example, 15 June 2006 08:00:00. For absolute times, ClearSCADA uses the syntax that is defined by the user’s Date Format. For information on specifying a user’s Date Format, see Define the Regional Settings for a User and Configuring the Guest and Web User Accounts.
Point values that indicate times or dates on displays such as Mimics use the above Date Formats, unless you specify another format using the Text Format window. For further information, see as applicable:

Be aware that the Date Format on a recipient’s User Form defines the date and time format that ClearSCADA uses in any Alarm Redirection e-mail, pager, or SMS messages (see the ClearSCADA Guide to Alarm Redirection for further information).
The relevant sections in the ClearSCADA documentation indicate which format you should be using to specify a time or date.
