Configuring Integer Points
The SNMP driver supports Integer points. Integer points use analog-type processing. Use SNMP Integer points to retrieve analog-type data values from network devices on your system, using the SNMP protocol.
Where an integer is assigned specific ‘enumeration’ values in a MIB, you may want to consider assigning that integer to an SNMP Digital point within the Geo SCADA Expert database, rather than an SNMP Integer point (see Configuring Digital Points).
Configure the properties of an integer point using the fields on the SNMP Integer Point Form.
This section summarizes the fields on the Form’s Integer Point tab.
Use the fields at the top of the Integer Point tab to:
- Configure the Common Point Properties
- Configure the Poll and Link Status Properties
- Configure the Trap Specific Properties
- Configure Integer and Cardinal Point Scaling.
The remaining fields on the Integer Point tab are common to analog-type points on many drivers. For information on these fields, see Defining Analog Point Details in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration.
For fields on other tabs on the Form, see Tabs on Configuration Forms.
