Points Used on TBox Outstations
A TBox outstation supports a combination of the following points for collecting data and controlling equipment:
- TBox Analog Input Point: see Configuring TBox Analog Points
- TBox Analog Output Point: see Configuring TBox Analog Points
- TBox Digital Input Point: see Configuring TBox Digital Points
- TBox Digital Output Pointsee Configuring TBox Digital Points
- TBox String Point see Configuring TBox String Points.
- TBox Historical Analog Point: see Configuring TBox Historical Analog Points These points are used only in connection with retrieving historical data on TBox Analog Input Points and TBox Analog Output Points: see Sampling Tables
For general information about Points in Geo SCADA Expert, see Introduction to Points in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration.
You need to configure one point of the appropriate type on the outstation for each register (tag) on an RTU for which data retrieval or control is required. Configure the properties for each point using the appropriate TBox Point Form. The Forms have several tabs (see Tabs on Point Forms in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Advanced Drivers).
For the minimum configuration required to create a functioning TBox point in Geo SCADA Expert, see Minimum Configuration for a TBox Point.
For the common properties of TBox points, see Configure Common Point Properties.
For an Output point, there is an option to report the value immediately after a control action has been carried out: see Specify Whether to Update an Output Point Value Immediately Following a Control Action.
