Specify the Properties of a File in a SCADAPack E Outstation’s Configuration
Use the Properties button on the Configuration Setup Window to edit the properties of a file in the SCADAPack E outstation’s configuration. The Properties window is also displayed when you add a file to the DNP3 SCADAPack E outstation’s configurations (see Add a File to a SCADAPack E Outstation’s Configuration).
The Properties window is not available for RTU Configuration files that are temporarily generated using the Generate button on the Configuration Setup window (see Generate Configuration and Profile Files for Diagnostic Purposes).
- Filename—Use to specify the name of the file, including any file extension, that will be used when the file is downloaded to the outstation. The name has to comply with the file naming restrictions (see File Restrictions).
Rename any IEC 61131-3 application files to either ISA11 or ISA21 before selecting the OK button (see File Restrictions).
- Automatic Download—Use to specify whether the file is downloaded as part of an automatic configuration download initiated by the outstation. The outstation initiates the automatic download by setting its configuration corrupt IIN bit.
In order for Geo SCADA Expert to download configuration automatically, the Allow Automatic Download property has to be enabled on the DNP3 SCADAPack E Outstation Form. For further information, see Configure Automatic Configuration Download.
Automatic configuration downloads may cause the outstation to be reset. For further information see Restart Level.
- Manual Download—Use to specify whether the file can be downloaded manually using the outstation’s Download Configuration and Download SCADAPack File pick actions.
Manual configuration downloads may cause the outstation to be reset. For further information see Restart Level.
- File Type—Use to specify the content of the file (see Supported File Types). When adding a file (see Add a File to a SCADAPack E Outstation’s Configuration), and Geo SCADA Expert recognizes the extension of the file, this field is set to the appropriate value automatically.
- Concatenation Type—Use to specify whether an RTU Configuration (.RTU) file (see Supported File Types) is to be appended to the start or end of the RTU Configuration file generated by Geo SCADA Expert.
Choose from:
- Beginning—The RTU Configuration (.RTU) file is inserted before the start of the configuration generated by Geo SCADA Expert.
- End—The RTU Configuration (.RTU) file is inserted after the end of the configuration generated by Geo SCADA Expert.
You may configure only one RTU Configuration (.RTU) file to have a Concatenation Type of end, and only one RTU Configuration (.RTU) file to have a Concatenation Type of beginning.
Example:
The file AIPMap.rtu is generated by the E Configurator.
The file is added to the Configuration Setup window within Geo SCADA Expert.
Within the Properties window, the file’s Concatenation Type is specified as ‘End’, and the ‘Automatic Download’ check box is selected.
The SCADAPack E outstation with which the file is associated requests a download.
Geo SCADA Expert generates an RTU Configuration file that contains the Geo SCADA Expert database configuration that is associated with the outstation.
Geo SCADA Expert appends the AIPMap.rtu data to the end of the RTU Configuration file, such that the file that is downloaded to the outstation contains the Geo SCADA Expert configuration data followed by the AIPMap data.
Both sets of information are transmitted to the outstation as a result of the download request.
