Exporting Historical Data to AVEVA Insight
You can export historic data for ClearSCADA points and accumulators to either a Wonderware Historian On-Premise server or to AVEVA Insight (formerly Wonderware Online). Historic data is only exported for points and accumulators for which a Wonderware Historian database item is specified in Export section of the configuration Form. Data that is subsequently stored in the historian will be exported to the specified Wonderware Historian application. For more information about both of these requirements, see Define the Historic Export Details in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration. Additionally, the Wonderware Historian driver needs to be enabled and set up in ClearSCADA (see Introduction to the Wonderware Historian Driver and see Configure a Wonderware Historian Database Item).
This section describes the procedure that you need to follow to connect ClearSCADA to AVEVA Insight and to export historical data to that application.
Before you start the procedure, you need to obtain a username and password. You can do this by signing up on the AVEVA Insight website, see as applicable:

To export historic data to AVEVA Insight, follow this procedure:
- Install AVEVA Insight Publisher on the ClearSCADA server(s) from which historic data is to be exported to AVEVA Insight.
- Set the Historian field on the Wonderware Historian database item to AVEVA Insight (Wonderware Online). For more information, see Specify the Connection Properties.
- Before you can connect ClearSCADA to AVEVA Insight, you will need to generate a connection token (see Generate a Connection Token with AVEVA Insight Publisher). The connection token will enable you to help secure the communications between the two applications. If your ClearSCADA system has a Hot-Standby configuration, you need to install a security certificate before you generate the connection token. This is so that the token can be shared by more than one computer (see Use a Certificate for an AVEVA Insight Connection Token).NOTICE
Inability to export historic data
Do not use the 'Share' option offered by AVEVA Insight Publisher. This option is not currently supported by ClearSCADA. Instead, you have to install a security certificate to enable a connection token to be shared by more than one computer in a Main-Standby server configuration.Failure to follow these instructions can result in the inability to export historic data to AVEVA Insight. - When you have generated the connection token (and installed the certificate, if necessary), use the Set Token pick action to enter the token into ClearSCADA (see Set Token). For more information about using pick actions, see Object Menu in the ClearSCADA Guide to ViewX and WebX Clients.
