Customize the ViewX Interface

The ViewX interface contains windows that you can arrange to suit your preferences. The interface supports two types of windows:

The available arrangement options are described in the following topics:

The customized arrangement of windows is stored locally as a client setting, and is associated with the user account that is active when the customization is performed. This includes the Guest user account if the customization is performed without logging on. This means that your most recent arrangement of windows is restored whenever you log on to the same computer (unless the ViewX client has a Multi-Monitor setup). If no one is logged on, the most recent arrangement for the Guest user account is displayed.

Be aware that your user account settings may impact your ability to view multiple displays simultaneously (see Define the General Settings for a User in ViewX) and view some Explorer windows (see Define which Explorer Bars a User can Access in ViewX). Likewise, your user account might restrict your access to particular areas of the system and how you can interact with the displays to which you do have access.

If you tend to start your user session by viewing a particular document each time, consider whether to request for your user account to be configured to display that document as a 'Home Page'. Such a document displays automatically whenever you log on to a ViewX or Virtual ViewX client.

If a ViewX client has a Multi-Monitor setup:

The Alarm Banner has a unique set of configuration options. For more information, see The Alarm Banner.
