Create and Configure IEC 61850 Analog Points and Analog Controls

The Geo SCADA Expert IEC 61850 driver supports IEC 61850 Analog Points and Analog Controls. Use an IEC 61850 Analog Point to map a Data Attribute with a functional constraint other than CO to a Analog Point in the Geo SCADA Expert database. IEC 61850 Analog Control to map a Data Attribute with a functional constraint of CO to a Analog Control in the Geo SCADA Expert database. An Analog or Digital Point cannot be mapped to a Data Attribute with a functional constraint of CO.

You can create Analog Points and Analog Control in the Geo SCADA Expert database, as defined in the SCL file. For information about how to create points, see Points Used On IEC 61850 Device.

Configure the properties of each Analog Point and Analog Control using the fields on the IEC 61850 Analog Point and IEC 61850 Analog Control Forms.

This section covers configuration of IEC 61850-specific properties on the Analog Point tab, the Control tab, the Write tab, and the Control Checks tab. .Most of these properties are configured automatically when the points are created. You only need to change the settings if they are to differ from the defaults, or comprise property values that need populating.

The configuration Form contains many fields, organized into tabs. Most of these tabs contain properties that are common to points on many drivers (see Tabs on Point Forms in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Advanced Drivers).

Use the Analog Point tab to:

For information on the Control properties, see Configure the Control Properties of an IEC 61850 Analog Control.

For information on the Write properties, see Configure the Write Properties of an IEC 61850 Analog Point

NOTE: The 'Control' tab is only available for the IEC 61850 Analog Controls that are created for the IEC 61850 control object nodes. The Analog points that are created for nodes other than control object nodes will have a Write tab instead of a Control tab. The Write tab does not have the Control Options section, as they cannot be created to represent an IEC 61850 data object where these options are used.

You can optionally use the Control Checks tab to configure the Control Checks settings (see Configuring Control Checks Settings in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration).

The fields on other tabs are common to points on many advanced drivers—see Tabs on Point Forms in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Advanced Drivers.
